Hyderabad, Aug 4 (INN): Banjara Hills police on Thursday foiled the hunger strike launched by the a group of students of the Telangana State Study Circle demanding implementation of civil service coaching programme.
The students, numbering over 50, resisted the attempt of the police to foil the stir but were all arrested and bundled in the police van. Some of the protesting students were shifted to hospital as their health has deteriorated due to the two day hunger stir.
The students had launched the stir alleging that there was delay in starting the coaching and that the coaching was wound up before the scheduled 18 month duration.
Earlier in the morning, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram visited the protesting students and assured that he would take the issue with the concerned officials. (INN)
